- Description
- This is the first example of piracy by a dewdrop spider I have seen this year. Shortly before I got photographs, the dewdrop spider appeared to be feeding at a leg joint of the labyrinth spider, which is either dead or immobilized. My guess is that the takeover of the web was shortly before my appearance on the scene. So far only a few silk lines are wrapped around the host. I expect to see more in the next few days before the dewdrop spider prepares her egg sac.
