- I saw the exact scene play out last year but wasn't able to spot the bird. The Munia was carrying dry Giant Wild Rye leaves from the creek area into a large pine. Last year it looked like it was a small bird with a gigantic tail. Scissor-tail Flycatcher didn't make sense for summer, and I thought it could have been a tropical escapee. I looked for half an hour and didn't find it. But this year it all added up...
