Description

With the northern bank of the stream temporarily blocked for concrete repair, the local Killdeer have less cover from wandering intruders. When I stumbled by, this attractive bird hopped up and began to do an elaborate fan dance. I was momentarily mesmerized, until I realized it had perceived me as a threat (to possible nestlings) and I quickly, and quietly, egressed.
